About Erin Black

I am a highly motivated, detail-oriented and creative individual looking to gain more experience in various fields of interest. I have a passion for the medical field and science, as well as fine art and design. Ultimately, I aspire to use my skills to do something that helps others and contributes positively to the world. Through my successful completion of a four-year Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in pharmacology, I gained a great deal of valuable experience in efficiency, collaboration, time management and dedication which I apply to everything I do. My education, work and volunteer experiences have all provided me with in-depth research experience, written and verbal communication, organizational and leadership skills. In addition to my academic interests, after completing a formal visual art program in high school, art and design have continued to play a large role in my life as a hobby. In Summer 2021, I decided to use this skill to start a custom painting shoe business called ‘Erin’s Custom Kicks’. This endeavour not only gave me a creative outlet, but also provided me with experience in marketing, time management and the drive to achieve client satisfaction. I have recently taken it upon myself to continue my education by completing online courses including Introduction to Adobe Illustrator and Introduction to UX Design. With design playing a larger role in my life recently, I am also quite familiar with Canva, Figma, Adobe Photoshop and Procreate. My peers would describe me as easy-going and trustworthy and my employers would describe me as focused, reliable and conscientious. I have proven myself to be able to easily adapt to new situations, take on new tasks and be a quick learner. I work very well independently, but also enjoy working with others. I believe having as many perspectives and ideas as possible will create the best outcome.
