I'm an HR professional with over 8 years of progressive HR experience. I have participated in nearly every aspect of HR, from learning and development, to safety, to compensation management and strategy. What drives and motivates me is a curiosity to understand people, processes, and platforms. They are opportunities to learn something new- a new skill, a new tool, a better way to implement data-driven strategy. I want to know the "why" behind processes and strategies. What's the context? How did it evolve? Is this process still serving the organization? If not, what are the opportunities? What resource limitations are we operating under? What goals and deliverables do we want to establish? Approaching something with curiosity and wanting to understand context allows you to meet the needs of the organization and also of its employees. Human Resources in a niche industry with a wide array of diverse employees means navigating communication barriers and finding better ways to facilitate understanding.
