About Erin Brown

Hi there! My name is Erin Brown. I grew up in a suburb of Atlanta, Peachtree City, and moved to Louisville in 2020 to pursue my undergraduate degree. I played competitive volleyball for a little over 10 years, which taught me how to work well on a team! I am currently a senior at Boyce College in the Strategic Communications program. My focus has been on marketing, public relations, writing, and crisis communication-I have 3 years of management experience in retail and the food industry. I began working at Chick-Fil-A in Highschool and worked my way up. I was promoted to Drive-Thru Leader after 6 months of being there and was promoted to Team Leader 2 months after that. I began working at Altar'd State as a Brand Representative, and was promoted to Guest Lead after two months of being there. Throughout my 3 years of management experience, I have developed a passion for leadership, and helping others succeed-I worked as a barista at Starbucks for a year. This allowed me to improve my skills of working on a team, and working well under pressure-I currently work as an assistant event planner for the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In this role, I have the opportunity to focus on organizing projects and improving our customer relationship management through various forms of marketing. In this role, I am able to apply my research from my classes in various ways. This includes but is not limited to email marketing, social media, and more. I have also been able to gain experience in the world of graphic design. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling, long-boarding, reading, thrifting, and watching movies! I also enjoy learning new skills. A fun fact about me, I have traveled to all 50 states in the US. My last stop was Hawaii last fall!
