About Erin Chalmers

Career changing after 10+ years as a teacher, I bring strong administration, coordination and people skills to leverage in my next profession. My teaching experience prepared me to be an excellent manager, simultaneously coordinating multiple priorities with high-stakes deadlines and multiple tiers of accountability in classroom project management. As a curriculum designer, I independently conceptualize, plan, execute and exhibit complex, multi-step projects towards a strategic direction. As a teacher I was also a coach, coordinator, manager and executive assistant to 50-150 reports, all of varying skillsets. Teachers also do extensive data management, often using multiple digital databases in tandem to assign, collect and track reports. Trend analysis in relation to measurable targets to highlight areas for improvement is performed regularly, with biweekly reports and quarterly presentations of progress for stakeholders. As a teacher I quickly developed software proficiency in multiple new technologies each year for communication and data tracking, including mail merges, data visualization, and customized data reports on key performance indicators. Technological competence also lends to daily responsibilities in formatting infographics, flowcharts, spreadsheets, data collectors, slide decks and presentations to communicate program goals and action plans, track progress and facilitate the logistics of meetings and events. In a typical week a teacher will create slide decks to present new ideas and illustrate complex themes in simple, concise terms while also formatting printed flowcharts and worksheets to supplement the lecture. Extensive experience using and coaching in Google Slides/ Docs/ Sheets, MS Office 265/ MS Word/ MS Excel, Canva etc. Of course teachers are most famous for our communication and customer service skills. I communicate expectations and implement action systems with a diverse audience of reports. Leverage relationships with all levels of stakeholders to find common goals and drive productivity. Troubleshoot individualized issues with 100+ daily clients and hold the final responsibility for high quality products from a large team.
