About Erin Farrell

Erin Farrell is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office, practising in the firm's advocacy department. Her practice focuses on a variety of commercial litigation matters, including class actions, product and professional liability, environmental law and municipal liability. Erin represents professionals in both civil and administrative matters, and has defended a number of Canadian and foreign clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device and manufacturing sectors in litigation. She also has extensive experience in the banking sector, advising clients on a range of litigation matters, including a variety of motions and injunctions. Erin has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and has also represented clients before regulatory bodies and tribunals. Along with her juris doctor, she holds a bachelor of science (hons.) in biochemistry (nutrition) and a master of science in biotechnology. Prior to pursuing a career in law, Erin conducted genetics research for two years at the University of Heidelberg Medical Research Centre while completing her M.Sc. She then spent three years conducting pharmacogenetics research at Roche, Palo Alto. Erin frequently participates in various Pro Bono Ontario programs, providing legal advice and acting as duty counsel for unrepresented litigants. She has also acted as counsel before the Human Rights Tribunal as pro-bono counsel. Outside of work, Erin is an active member of The Advocates’ Society, sitting on a variety of committees and task forces.
