I have been with The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter since 2001. I was promoted to Manager of Human Resources in March of 2017, but have maintained many of my duties that I have been doing for years because in a Non Profit, one person may need to wear many hats to get the job done. Here is a very brief snapshot that highlights some of my responsibilities from my beginnings as receptionist to A/R to A/P to Office Manager, Mgr. of HR and now, Director of HR and Administration. I am in charge of accounts payable, HR recruitment for job openings by posting positions, screening resumes, initial phone screening and connecting potential candidates with the appropriate manager and then setting up interviews. On boarding of new employees and walking them through and setting them up with our benefits package. Also the departure of employees and any continuation of benefits. I am the first point of contact for incoming donations. Set up and maintain Chapter insurance policies including Auto, Commercial property and WC. I am the liaison with building management on building/suite projects as well as overall general Tenant-Mgmt Co. relations and the flow of the day to day in the office. I also handle the mail, both incoming and outgoing as well as ordering all office supplies including printed stationary.
