After more than a decade reporting and editing at The Associated Press, I joined Amazon's corporate communications team as an editor and writing coach. I focus on editing public-facing content, including globally distributed newsletters and in-depth stories about Amazon's scope and technology, along with business reports for C-suite executives. I generated and executed story ideas, wrote stories, guided breaking-news coverage, managed the region's rewrite desk, and guided long-term projects, including a system to manage hundreds of pre-written background stories. I focused on topics ranging from politics, federal courts, and legal affairs to the environment and travel. Outside the office, I expand my professional skillset through continuing education.
