Over 32 years of experience in a retail environment. Ranging from the sales floor to buying and managing merchandise with sales in over $20MM annually. Supervising associates, payroll, and other HR functions. Additional experiences include marketing, advertising, and social media development. I have 20+ years of experience in various volunteer positions including animal care and fundraising at Animal Aid. Animal Aid is a non-profit, no-kill, animal rescue, and outreach organization serving the Portland Metro area since 1969. I also volunteer at a local school located in the Beaverton School District. Projects include room parent activities, auction fundraising, all aspects of the classroom including working with students and parents, library, main office, and other duties that support the well being of the school. After 15 years of volunteering at the K-8 school and at the high school level, there are many volunteer roles to add. While volunteering at Northwest Fencing Center, a non-profit fencing training center in Beaverton, I developed a large social media following and maintained Instagram and Facebook accounts. Instagram name: NwFencing or #nwfc. As my volunteer role grew, I was hired as a contract employee and eventually into permanent employee status. Currently, my title is Communications and Event Manager at Northwest Fencing Center. My job entails a variety of duties. I communicate and promote the non-profit club's events, tournaments, and fundraising all while supporting the athletes, parents, coaches, and other staff members. Special events include brand design, brand building, promotion, t-shirt design, advertising, supplies, prizes, personalized gear, and meal planning for up to 90 guests aging from 10-80 years old. Front desk duties include office software knowledge, billing, inventory maintenance, member services, public outreach, sales, and customer service. We recently have undergone an expansion that doubled our square feet thanks to fundraising, our member donations, and the Washington County Visitors Association. During the construction, we also rebranded the company with a new logo and a new look. I designed a great deal of the indoor and outdoor signage.
