About Erin Maxfield

I’m someone people trust to get things done, and to do it with thoughtfulness, care, and a sense of humour. I’ve built my career in the arts and nonprofit world, mostly behind the scenes, helping big ideas move forward and keeping complex relationships on track. My strengths have always been the so-called soft skills: emotional intelligence, communication, and the ability to read the room. For a long time, I didn’t realize how rare those skills are, but I’ve come to see just how necessary they are, especially in leadership roles. I’m great with people, calm under pressure, and a true team player. I know how to navigate challenging situations with tact and diplomacy, keep things moving, and make sure people feel respected along the way. You won’t always see my name next to the big wins, but I’m often the one helping to make them happen. Whether I’m ghostwriting a message from the CEO, coordinating with donors and board members, or offering advice to my colleagues, I bring a steady hand and a clear sense of purpose. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, journaling, papercraft, and baking. I’m an active volunteer, and I believe in giving back where I can. I support the Toronto Public Library because libraries are vital community hubs, and I’m also a regular blood donor — something I encourage others to consider if they’re able.
