About Erin McGrady

I'm an experienced content creator with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry. I am passionate about telling stories to increase representation on both sides of the lens. My specialty is coming up with new ways to tell a familiar story, particularly for brands in the outdoor industry. I have worked on social media campaigns and brand partnerships such as Merrell, Outside, Coleman, Orvis, Brooks Running, The Outbound Collective, Eddie Bauer, Allegiant Air, NASA, REI, Snow Peak, Columbia, Stio, Explore Asheville, National Park Foundation, Google, Google Pixel, Hoka, and a number of DMO's/CVB's. Photography, video, and writing are my passions. I'm also an FAA certified drone pilot! I'm eager to get down in the dirt and roll up my sleeves to make a story or shoot come to life.(Literally. It's not unusual for an assignment to have me run miles on a trail, hop on a boat, shoot underwater, or even navigate a ropes course.) Not all jobs are fueled by adrenaline, however. I'm also confident leading models on a shoot to capture content and staging products, both in the field and in the studio. I am based in Asheville, North Carolina but am frequently on the road traveling for work. My wife and I have a camper van and we have traveled across the country several times with our rescue pup. If you need a product shot in a remote, unique location, I'm your gal. Though I'm currently freelancing full-time, my ten years of teaching in public education helped me figure out how to lead others and develop a team in order to get a project done. It also made me at ease speaking in front of large groups. I'm not in front of hundreds of students every day like I used to be but I have kept my hand in the teaching arena by organizing and teaching two classes on photography at the REI in Asheville. Both classes have been free and have been born out of a love for the topic as well as a love for teaching. I've also recently appeared on panels (one with the Outbound Collective and one with WWF) sharing about my experience as a QPOC in the creative/outdoor industry. But enough about me.
