About Erin Oakley

As the Education Program Coordinator at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, I leverage my PhD in Physiology and over a decade of research experience to educate and train the next generation of cancer researchers. I implement programs that support research training and professional development for cancer trainees and junior faculty across various levels and disciplines. My mission is to foster a diverse and inclusive research community that advances cancer science and improves health outcomes. To achieve this, I develop programs to increase grant support at my institution and oversee programs to support and increase fellowship funding opportunities for trainees and early-stage investigators in cancer research. I also collaborate with other institutions and community partners to create and disseminate best practices and innovative approaches for cancer education and career development.
