About Erinn Letts

I am a nature and portrait photographer in St. Paul, Minnesota. I wasn't always a photographer, but I was. Growing up, I was always the one who had a camera. I was a bit of a social butterfly. You could find me at the swim meet, the football game, forensics, O.M, building the homecoming float, or just socializing in the halls - always with my camera. I love capturing images of people doing what they love. Fast forward to college when I met my husband. He introduced me to the woods and it was like I fell in love twice. The daughter of a horticulturalist finally awoke. I found wonder in the smallest parts of a forest: drops of dew, the texture of bark, bending light peeking through branches. When our children were born, I knew that my sleep deprived mommy brain could not be trusted to remember the details of these precious moments. Nature stands still, but my kids did not. I felt the need to learn everything I could about shutter speed, lighting and capturing authentic moments. By the time my third child arrived, I was thoroughly and forever hooked on photography. As a teacher at an inner city school in Minneapolis, I loved working with students from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Today, in everything I do, I am captivated by what makes people unique and what bonds us together. I am fascinated by each stage of life but, most of all, I love discovering what makes people smile.
