About Ernest Badu

Ernest has had the good fortune of working for some prestigious and well known practices in his career as an architect. He has worked both in the private and public sectors, working on a wide range of project types from small residential extensions, Social Housing, church refurbishments & conversions, Hertfordshire County Council Modern School designs, Hospitals, to high spec Hotels in the Docklands.He is currently working for an Architect and Building Surveyors practice in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, where he is enjoying designing housing for private owners and developers. He is also continuing with his unique skills in school designs at this practice. Prior to this practice he was an architect at Mace, Hertford, were he excelled as an Architect and Lead Designer, running projects from inception, through design, Planning, tender, managing construction on site, through to the Defects Liability period and handover.With his advance knowledge in AutoCAD he produces all working drawings of projects in this format but also has a keen interest in BIM, using Revit Architecture.He is also an accomplished artist, with many of his sketches and oil paintings sold and displayed in art galleries in Hampstead, North London. He has also had many private commissions in England, France, Italy and Sweden. He often applies his artistic ability to sketch during the visualisation of conceptual designs, much to the delight of his clients. His love of building design has lead him to experiment in the production of modern interior designs bordering on minimalism with emphasis on the ‘feel’ and ‘mood’ of space formed by natural and artificial lighting. For him, simplicity and clean lines of forms mean more than over indulged ‘clutter’ architecture and is reflected to a high degree of quality in his slick contemporary designs.He continues to explore his art with the aim of improving the experiences of our built environment in an ever changing global and economic climate, to provide meaningful and responsive architecture.
