Background
About Ernest Jennison
Ernest (Ernie) F. Jennison is vice president in the Infrastructure and Platform Solutions Group and director of validation for the group’s IP Center of Excellence at Intel Corporation. He leads the team charged with validating intellectual property (IP) and subsystems in areas such as audio, voice, speech, sensors, security, debugging, fabrics, I/O technologies and related software. Jennison oversees IP early prototyping and the development of a validation infrastructure across Intel products, and is responsible for the validation of Intel-developed subsystems from early implementation to post-silicon work and customer enabling. Over the course of his two-decade career at Intel, Jennison has led various validation organizations spanning sites in the United States, China, Mexico, Malaysia, Israel and India. He has been responsible for delivering CPU, platform controller hub (PCH), system-on-chip and IP hardware validation in both pre- and post-silicon phases, as well as advancing hardware and software validation technologies for Intel products across all segments, custom application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and test chips. Jennison has held his current role since 201520. Previously, he was responsible for post-silicon PCH, memory controller hub and CPU validation, a role that included system validation, electrical validation, compatibility validation and test infrastructure development. He also previously managed a team responsible for performance and power management validation across Intel client platform silicon. Before joining Intel in Jennison was a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) government contractor. In that capacity, he worked with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on network infrastructure and hardware for monitoring U.S. nuclear reactors, and he worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) enabling computer requirements for U.S. embassies and USAID contracts. Earlier in his career, he designed ASICs for network hardware products at IBM Corp. Jennison earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
