My Professional Profile-Curriculum Vitae identifies my 38 years of experience in public administration, civil rights and transportation policy development. This includes significant opportunities to consult, teach, instruct and guide a diversity of constituents, employees, policy-makers and members of my community. The following captures my professional experiences and overall understanding of my personal attributes, strengths and broad knowledge of public administration and policy. I am a “teacher’ at heart and obtain great joy in gaining and sharing knowledge. I have lectured and provided training and development opportunities to municipal, county, state and federal government administrators on various public policies. Using my strong interpersonal skills and perspective, I can: • Relate well to diverse and multicultural audiences; • Inspire and motivate others to consider differing points of view on various topics, including political history and administration, business management, finance and budget, best-practices research, strategic staffing, public policy, and governance; • Communicate and negotiate to strategically diffuse departmental issues and concerns; • Organize work area/class rooms to ensure efficient/effective and high quality service and teaching are paramount and consistent; • Guide and counsel executive management, supervisors, colleagues and employees on how to interpret and implement complex public policies; • Effectively interpret and apply human resource and labor/management policies in the public sector; • Develop and guide new disadvantage business enterprises interested in government contracting; • Guide practitioners at streamlining and standardizing processes to deliver strategic advantages and desired results/better decision-making; • Diffuse various issues that may arise in classroom and in staff because of my broad negotiation, interpersonal and negotiation skills; • Research and implement public policies and measure results; and • I am an expert in transportation policies.
