About Ernie Belyea

I am a senior corporate commercial lawyer with over 25 years of experience practicing in the private and public sectors and as an entrepreneur. I bring knowledge and insights from each of these experiences to my broad corporate commercial practice and, more recently, to my entrepreneurial endeavors at the Canadian Green Fund, Purus Power Corporation and IN SITU Renewables inc. In the last decade I have focused primarily on the energy industry. During this time I have assisted entrepreneurs, developers, utilities, First Nations and government agencies in various energy related endeavours including conventional (coal and gas fired), nuclear, renewable (hydro, wind, solar, biogas and biomass) and combined heat and power generation projects, transmission lines and grid technology projects, gas pipelines and the full range of conservation and demand management programming undertaken in the Province of Ontario. My practice also extended to energy regulatory matters where I advised clients on energy matters at the Ontario Energy Board, National Energy Board, and the Canadian International Trade Tribunal. The breadth of my practice is reflected in the practice groups of which I have been a member: Corporate and Commercial, Energy, Mining, Private Equity and Aboriginal law practice groups.
