I am a freelance graphic designer going on 12 years and an entertainment journalist for 19 years covering culture, community, entertainment, film, art, fantasy sports, video games, and comic book industries. Most recently, I've been a contributing writer and editor for SYFY WIRE, the news department of SYFY.com. I write features, news stories, and video scripts and at special events, I have been an on-camera personality for SYFY WIRE for four years. Some of my work has been used as pull quotes for marketing DC Comics, Valiant Comics, and other companies. Seasonally, I write for USA Today's annual Fantasy Football Guide and while giving weekly advice for Bruno Boys Fantasy Football. Prior to my freelance work, worked briefly at a print shop where I got a chance to design anything that could be printed, from business cards to newsletters, to greeting cards. I designed ads for multiple national and local businesses serving the Greater San Diego area through Get 1 Free Magazine, and spent a year at the University of Michigan University Unions, designing and writing copy for many campus-wide campaigns and maintaining that brand design. My professional career began formulating architectural paint and developing several national products as a R&D chemist for Sherwin Williams, where I communicated and assisted with marketing groups on selling products at National Sales Show and supervised plant implementation of my formulas. My experience in the analytic and scientific world developed both sides of my brain, making me a flexible and resourceful problem solver who is a valuable resource for any team. I draw from my natural gifts as a creative artist and versatile work experience to meet goals in a distinct manner. I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Polymers and Coatings with an English Minor. Later I earned an Associate in Graphic Design from Washtenaw Community College. I reside in San Diego with my wife and two children.
