Here we go and grow again. Beginning my career as a media and marketing professional, then a private & public servant, to a community and economic development leader, I’ve learned there’s nothing more powerful than a good story about good people. Nothing can stop it and no one can destroy it. Moving from Birmingham to Chicago, I was prepared for the chill and a new chapter filled with plots, settings and characters. And Chicago you didn’t disappoint. Working with the Chicago Urban League, I witnessed how investment in equity and social and economic empowerment changed lives. Most recently at Nicor, a Southern Company I witnessed how commitment and collaboration changed places. When our team was recognized with two international economic development awards for innovation and public private partnerships, I was reminded you need not be big to be powerful, just infectious. I’m excited for the story to continue as the next chapter begins. I’m positioned again in my center of gravity for my role and my soul to be reunited, stories to be told and places made better. I’ll be listening, learning and leaning into empowering the next generation of leaders as Executive In Residence with Miles College in Birmingham, Al. I am honored to be a part of a powerful group of thought leaders and practitioners, executives and public servants to drive innovation, commercialization and growth, investing in people, products and places. And so the story continues from a warmer place, powerful and Infectious.
