About Erwin Duran

My healthcare experience lends itself to Administrative Management, Medical Billing and Coding, Insurance Claim Denials, Customer Service, EMR Implementation, Ambulatory/Outpatient Operations, and Risk Adjustment and HCC Coding in the FQHC, Hospital, and Ambulatory settings. I hold four certifications with the AAPC: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Evaluation Management Coder (CEMC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), and the AAPC Approved Instructor Certification/License to teach the CPC curriculum (CPC-I). My focus is to improve clinical documentation and ensure compliance in my current role with the various regulations put forward by CMS, OIG, and OMIG. I provide education in the professional environment via workshops, seminars, and the remote environment to physician, non-physician providers, nurses, and billing staff. I maintain an adjunct instructor role in the academic environment in the community and private setting with the focus on the medical coding curriculum from the AAPC. Open to any new challenges with the long term goal of continuing to educate academics and staff for healthcare organizations, and enhancing the revenue for organization while maintaining compliance with all government regulations.
