About Erwin Paap

He studied Civil Engineering at TUDelft, where he also obtained his Master's Degree in Structural Civil Engineering. He has lived outside the Netherlands since 2007, approx. 10 years in Chile, 5.5 years in Colombia and 2 years in Spain. During his stay in Madrid he obtained his Executive MBA at IE Business School. Erwin has 22 years of experience in the engineering and construction field, of which the first 5 in the engineering area and later in the execution of projects; little by little more specifically in the mega-projects EPC (C). Highlights include the construction of Costanera Center, Steel plants (Huachipato), Oil & Gas (Reficar and Al-Zour) and mining (Andina and Spence) areas. Over time, he has specialized in managing EPC projects, with special emphasis on the correct and efficient, contractual and legal management of projects with a pro-active attitude to solve possible conflict situations at an early stage. He is also highly motivated by the formation of teams between different specialists or even companies (in three projects he managed JVs, being the legal representative in the last one), based on trust, self-motivation and respect. Finally of personal interest but intimately related to work, he strives to ensure a correct, fair and socially beneficial execution of projects, both for professionals and direct personnel, which at this time is popularly called "Compliance". In early projects he has been the leader of several joint committees and in his latest project the Compliance Officer of the JV.
