About Erwin van Rijn

With over 20 years of experience in health, safety, and occupational health management, I specialize in advising and supporting organizations on creating safe and healthy work environments. My career began in scientific research roles, where I developed a deep understanding of safety measures and protocols, particularly within laboratory and research settings. This foundation has allowed me to build a comprehensive expertise in health, safety, environmental management, and occupational health over the years. Currently, I work at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), where I am involved in various roles including Health Safety Environment Advisor, Radiation Hygienist, and Department Safety Officer. These positions have strengthened my ability to assess, implement, and advise on safety regulations and strategies, specifically in high-risk academic and research environments. Additionally, my leadership roles as Head of BHV and as a Works Council Member have enabled me to contribute to policy development and the improvement of workplace safety systems. I am passionate about combining technical knowledge with practical safety strategies to create safer workplaces. My goal is to continue using my skills to support our organizations in managing health, safety, and occupational health risks while ensuring compliance with the latest industry standards.
