Founded this company in 1980 with my wife, Lula. Handle grant writing; publicity; marketing; communication; booking of tours; producing of concerts; overseeing all aspect of the company's operations including our school; real estate acquisitions; and financial management including bookkeeping, audits, and budgeting. Have served on many grant funding panels including the National Endowment for the Arts; the California Arts Council; the California Community Foundation; the L.A. County Arts Commission; the Los Angeles City Department of Cultural Affairs. I am a graduate of Stanford University's Executive Program in Non-Profit Leadership. I'm part of the Kennedy Center's Capacity Building Program for Multi-Cultural Arts Organizations; I've participated L.A. County's Arts Organization Stabilization Initiative and their Arts Leadership Initiative. Also, I've taken the Annenberg Foundation's Executive Leadership training workshops; and the Executive Service Corp's Developing Devlopment program. I have been on the board for the Dance Resource Center and the Western Arts Alliance. I have been a speaker at arts conferences across the US. Under my guidance, our dance company has purchased its current studio on Crenshaw Boulevard. We are one of the few dance companies in our city that own its own rehearsal and teaching space. Specialties: I'm pretty good with media, having been a reporter at the LA Times; Washington Post; LA Times; Daily News, and others. I have solid grant writing background; and I am strong with finance, budgets, and overall administration.
