About Esa Toukoniitty

I'm currently involved in circular economy and renewable energy projects, training and education. I'm a project manager in Closed Plastic Circle - from pilots into practice (Kaikki muovi kiertää - aluekokeiluilla käytäntöön, REACT, uusimaa) project and work as a circular economy expert in Resilience, Green Transition and Digitalization of SMEs project (Yritysten vihreä siirtymä, muutoskyvykkyys ja digitalisaatio (REACT, Etelä-Suomi). My main activities in the SKILLBILL project (https://skillbill-project.eu/) are in development of an European Master in renewable energy. Courses and content that I'm developing are dealing with Bio fuels, Waste to energy and Power-to-X technologies. I'm a Doctor of Science and Adjunct Professor with more than 20 years of experience in teaching of technology and natural sciences. I have worked in three universities i.e. Åbo Akademi University, University of Turku and Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. I have over 10 years of research experience at Post Doc level in Heterogeneous Catalysis (three-phase reactions), Kinetics and Asymmetric synthesis. I have been involved in university administration as a head of degree programme in Environmental engineering and Chemicals Engineering at Metropolia UAS. I have 60 ECTS credits Teacher's Pedagogical Qualification and I have have completed a 60 ECTS credits Specialization studies in Digital Learning Environments and Pedagogy.
