During my early academic years, I pursued a Public Health major, initially driven by the desire to contribute to community and individual well-being. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic profoundly altered my perspective on the essential role of public health. As I witnessed the dedicated efforts of public health professionals in the face of the crisis, I came to recognize public health as a dynamic, life-saving force, shaping my determination to address health disparities. Post-graduation, I found my purpose as a Housing Case Manager, bridging the realms of public health and social services. Working at the intersection of homelessness and housing instability, I contributed to improving individuals' health access by securing stable housing and connecting them to vital resources. This role unveiled the transformative power of secure housing and deepened my commitment to creating healthier, more equitable communities. As I continue this journey, I am dedicated to fostering the integration of public health and social services, ensuring access to secure housing, and working towards a healthier, more equitable world for all.
