Background

About Estelle Tran

As a senior analyst at CRU, I manage relationships with data providers for the US Midwest flat-rolled steel indices and ensure the quality of our steel prices. I am also the editor of the Steel Monitor and write the analysis for the monthly Steel Market Update Service Center Inventories Report for Steel Market Update. I also have six years of experience covering and assessing prices for the US bulk ferroalloys market. Previously, I was an associate editor at S&P Global Platts, reporting on steel sheet and plate pricing. Prior to taking on flat-rolled steel news and price assessments, I covered the market for steel long products used in construction and primary aluminum. I specialize in researching and writing play-by-play trade news as well as in-depth, explanatory articles about antidumping and countervailing duty investigations and other trade actions affecting the US steel industry. I am the past president/marketing chair of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Association of Women in the Metal Industries and vice chair for the Northeast region.
