About Estera Tajnikar

I have started my professional path as student in Creditanstalt bank in Controlling which developed into full time employment. I have learned about different fields of banking, their impact on performance of the bank, internal and external reporting, been involved in implementation of several software improvements in this area and experienced period of transition from Creditanstalt to Bank Austria. I have then changed to a new area - risk management, been mainly involved with credit analysis and asset valuations, since I also changed the industry - from banking to leasing. After being asked to join the Office of Prime Minister I took on a new challenge as Economic Adviser, responsible for supporting activities of the Prime Minister in the area of real economy at home and abroad by working with different ministries and by following macroeconomic developments and research provided by different Slovene and foreign institutes. After new elections I have returned to the finance industry and took over the position of the Head of Risk Management at UniCredit Leasing, spreading my area of responsibility next to credit risk also to operational and market risk, restructuring, collection and collateral management. I have been promoted to Board Member and later to CEO, which brought full managerial responsibilities and challenges. To acquire international experience I later moved to UniCredit center in Vienna with the task to set up the leased asset management and remarketing system in the CEE parameter. In April 2018 I moved to a new business area and a new company by taking over the position of specialist for product development and European programmes at SID bank. In 2024 I become Head of Business Analysis.
