About Esther Bechara

I am a registered Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner, endorsed and deemed suitable by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards. Additionally, I hold current Associate membership as a Rehabilitation Counsellor with the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC). My vision, purpose, and core values drive my provision of therapeutic services and supports for NDIS participants. It is vital that the organisation I work for empowers and support clinicians to live and breathe their aligned core values, evidencing this in all activities undertaken and integrated into their professional practice. I am a dedicated, empathetic, and experienced advocate and therapeutic service provider for NDIS recipients, with 17 years of experience in the Allied Health sector, including 5+ years recent experience in leadership roles, such as Team Leader, Clinical Advisor, and currently employed in a National Clinical Lead role. I adopt a strengths-based, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach in both my professional and personal life. Considering this, I thrive in a workplace where culture and values align with my own and everyone is empowered and supported to ‘walk the talk’. Prior to this, I owned and operated a successful multi-disciplinary Allied Health Clinic in the Adelaide Hills. Further experience in relevant roles include; Counsellor and Remedial Massage Therapist at Flinders University Health, Counselling and Disability Services, National Master Franchisor and Trainer for Express Mobile Services, and Counsellor/Case Worker at DrugArm. I consider it an honour and great responsibility to provide clinical support for people with disabilities. I endeavour to connect and learn from all participants, their support teams, other Allied Health clinicians and their organisations, as I believe the best outcomes can be achieved when the approach is holistic, comprehensive, collaborative and client-centred. I welcome the opportunity and thrive in a workplace where vision, purpose, and culture align. I believe that it is important to leave ego and expectations at the door, because everyone has so much to contribute, we just need to be open and curious. I wish to further increase my scope of practice through supporting the teams supporting clients. I strive to empower, encourage, and educate other clinicians to realise their full potential and be their best selves, both professionally and personally. We are all our own version of amazing and we have an important job to do together, where everyone benefits and can enjoy choice, control, and quality of life.
