About Esther H.
Driven by interest in inorganic nanomaterials, I expanded my background in chemical synthesis to processing, characterization, and mechanical testing of alloys. My skill set includes synthesis, electron microscopy, and in situ micromechanics to study properties of nanostructured alloys. In addition to chemistry and materials research, I am passionate about STEM education, outreach, and retention from K-12 all the way through graduate programs. My experience includes five quarters as a teaching assistant for Materials Science and Analytical Chemistry labs, developing research methods with prospective K-12 teachers to implement in classrooms, and earning my credential teaching 10th grade chemistry.
