About Esther Kong

Hi! My name is Esther Yun Kong, and I am a Korean-American writer, director, and cinematographer based in South Korea and New York. I am currently an undergraduate student studying film and video at Pratt Institute! During my years at Pratt, I developed a strong passion for narrative and experimental filmmaking. With the help of my friends and colleagues, I was able to turn assignments into passion projects and was fortunate enough to have them screen at many film festivals! One of my projects,"FACETIME," was officially selected at the CineYouth Festival by ACADEMY AWARD®-QUALIFYING Chicago International Film Festival. Please check it out on NOWNESS ASIA :) Outside of school, I have worked on music video sets, commercials, city-funded shorts, and many more! My goal is to work on professional commercial sets in the near future to assist the growth of the film community around New York and build a strong background in the filmmaking process to eventually shoot a feature film of my own. My strengths are content creation, creative writing, DSLR/Cinema camera operation, Adobe Suite, and time management!
