About Eteka Traore
Dr Cheikh Eteka Traore is a health adviser and entrepreneur. A binational of Nigeria and Mauritania with fifteen years experience working in public health and development in over twenty-two countries across Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. He graduated with a doctorate in Medicine from the National University of Cote d’Ivoire in 1995. After completion of a Masters in public health and nutrition at the London School of Hygiene and tropical Medicine, he worked as a health advisor for several agencies including the Terrence Higgins Trust (London), the Mayor of London’s health policy team, and UNDP’s HIV, Health and Development team (New York). His expertise is in providing policy solutions, training and programme design to improve health access. He is spearheading GOAE Nigeria to improve local processing and retail of cashew and cocoa, with the aim to better position SMEs in the commodities value chain. He works as an independent expert for various governments and international NGOs implementing programmes for the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, and PEPFAR
