About Ethan Bayer

Ethan Bayer serves as the Coordinator for International Affairs and National Security Policy at the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). Ethan first gained his affinity for the political world during his time living overseas in Spain and Portugal, where he learned about the different issues and conflicts facing the world today. Before joining AIA, Bayer interned at the White House under the Biden Administration in the Office of Presidential Correspondence. In this role, he helped manage outgoing communications with the American public and assisted in overseeing the Comment Line. Prior to his time at the White House, Bayer interned on several political campaigns, including Congresswoman Elaine Luria’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee’s Finance team. He also worked in the Richmond and Washington, D.C. offices of U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, where he served as a liaison between constituents and the federal government. Bayer is a graduate of the Honors College of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, along with a double minor in Business and Homeland Security. In addition, Bayer is a graduate of the School of International Service at American University with a Masters of Arts in International Relations. Bayer is a fluent speaker of Spanish and Portuguese, and is currently learning German. He developed these skills and his interest for international affairs and politics during his time playing soccer and living overseas in Madrid, Spain and Porto, Portugal during high school. Bayer’s soccer career took him to 10 countries around the world playing against the top talent the world has. At twelve years old, he moved to Florida to attend the prestigious IMG Academy where he received awards such as Academy Player of the Year, Top-Drawer Soccer Top 10 Player in the Region, and served as captain for three years. After his time at IMG, Bayer signed for Rayo Vallecano de Madrid playing for the Sub-17 and Sub-18 teams. In addition, he then signed for Boavista F.C. playing for the Sub-19 team. He ended his soccer career, he played collegiately for the Virginia Commonwealth University Varsity Men's Soccer Team serving as a Vice-Captain during his last season before he retired.
