About Ethan Catherall

I attended Liverpool John Moores University from 2016-2020, acquiring a degree in English after the first three years and then going on to earn a Master's Degree in the subject the following year. At the tail end of my M.A, I was tasked with writing a lengthy dissertation about a literary subject of my choice, and I chose the works of the American author Philip K. Dick and applied the theory of post-humanism to his works, obtaining a 2:1 grade for my efforts - it was a trying but truly rewarding endeavour to compile such a huge piece of writing and one that heightened my passion for the craft. I currently work as a Learning Resource Assistant at Cronton College and really feel at home working in an educational environment, assisting students and staff whilst writing articles for the college. My personal hobbies include listening to music (I like to follow new artists as well delving into musical history), football (I enjoy the journalistic side of it and am fascinated by its dominating presence on social media), reading (from classic literature to Japanese manga), fitness (weightlifting, running and 5-a-side) and writing analytical pieces on text and media as well as my own fiction. I find it essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercise and reading in my spare time. I have a full driving license and my own car. I enjoy caring for animals and have done since I was young. I am proficient in the usage of social media and am comfortable and knowledgeable about using various forms of technology. I consider myself a loyal and reliable worker, always punctual and fully focused, and am always striving to improve myself as a person. I am adaptable and do not fold under pressure and see myself as a people person who enjoys conversation and making connections. I am looking for a career path in which I can help people, while growing as a person myself, and in particular a role that could benefit from my reading and writing specialty.
