Background

About Ethan Chen

Growing up with two STEM-focused parents, I've always been deeply interested in the inner workings of technology. When I use social media or play video games, I love to think about what goes on in the background, even if I don't know exactly how the technical aspect operates. I'm always very eager to learn something new to add to my arsenal. Something I've recently become very interested in is databases and cyber security. With how reliant much of the internet is on a few select technologies, when those technologies become vulnerable to bugs or malicious attacks, a great deal of people are negatively affected, and personal data is often compromised. I want to explore ways we can reinforce defenses of the technologies we use and the databases behind them, and help people be more informed about the dangers of the internet and the risks involved with putting personal information online.
