Background
About Ethan Cheung
Highly skilled in the science, sociology, psychology and functionality of vocal instruction, learning from world experts. Experienced science and voice teacher, with a strong demonstrated experience of training in the industry. I am one of a handful of pedagogues, with strong links to world leading academic researchers and publications from the science to psychology of voice, at UCL. My research and training with world experts at SLS and UCL have been noted in universities and global international education organisations. Ethan Cheung is a highly regarded expert in the field of voice function, with a focus on the neuro-mechanical function of voice pedagogy. He has researched on the BA Education Studies, voice function instruction with world leaders at the QS Number 1 Leading University for Education. His research explores from the likes of Vygotsky and Bronfenbrenner, how the Kodaly method of instruction, exemplifies gestures and this role in the neuro-mechanical function in voice. Ethan served as the Undergraduate Research Representative with a dedicated interest in academic bias and philosophy, in the Department of Education, Society and Practice Ethan has studied and continues to study from IVA Educator and former SLS CEO Jeffrey Skouson, and follows the principles of a balanced coordination between the thyroarytenoid and cricothyroid muscles, along a resting larynx. His industry network is vast from West End Performers to Grammy Award Winning Artists' Voice Coaches, whom use the SLS technique. He has arranged and led workshops in voice at University of London on a regular basis, and clientele have been accepted to the Sylvia Young Theatre School from local peripatetic tuition. Additionally, he has taught Science at a globally recognised educational institution, Nord Anglia and is a trained Science Teacher. Many of Ethans' students hear an immediate difference in their first session, following a scientific and pragmatic approach, through cause and effect. Ethan Cheung dedicates a passion for children and young adults' mental health, as a mental health first aider and volunteers as a Resident Advisor, IOE UCL Peer Mentor, UN Millennium Fellow and Independent Visitor for those in Care with a focus on equitable life chances, particularly in Higher Education.
