About Ethan Daniel

I was born in raised in a small town outside of Cincinnati Ohio called New Richmond where we value community and hard work. I became an Eagle Scout and had extensive volunteering opportunities, and amazing experiences that I will never forget. One of my favorite experiences through scouting was at NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) where I was sent to a camp for a week with people I had never met. We learned effective leadership strategies and were brought into a menagerie of issues. Upon arriving at camp we had an hour to set everything up but before setting up we did an inventory of all of the things we were supposed to have. Like every trip in scouting we were missing half of the things we needed and the things we did have were broken. I had a bit more experience than some of the others in my patrol so I began delegating tasks. I sent two people to go advise the quartermaster and had the rest of us try and figure out how we could make things work. With a roll of duck tape, a bowling pin, and a lot of intuition we ended up making camp before the deadline. Although we did get some new tarps and things later we thought that the camp should be left as it was as a symbol of out ingenuity. Currently, I am a first year student In the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Civil Engineering. I am very eager to further my professional knowledge and would like to gain as much diverse experience as possible. Since I have pretty much zero professional experience everything will be a lesson and I can't wait to get started.
