About Ethan Duperre

Currently, I am an engineer for AOTCO Metal Finishing, which is a surface finishing company in Massachusetts. We perform a wide variety of surface finishing and are constantly expanding into new spaces. I handle a number of different task from process improvements or non-conformances in products to R&D and establishment of new plating lines. My previous experience was as a Manufacturing Engineer in North Carolina for an aerospace manufacturer. I was the lead engineer in the plating room and the Subject Matter Expert for all chemical processes in the plant. I addressed and dispositioned non-conforming product, implemented improvements and corrective actions, helped drive production, and performed process audits. I was working directly with floor personnel, management, quality and other engineers and would plate or anodize parts myself to validate and improve processes. I was also a key player in maintaining NADCAP accreditation for Chemical Processing to AC7108. Previously, my roles were more R&D focused. I worked for Lockheed Martin Advanced Energy Storage, assisting in the development of a grid-scale flow battery in a Research and Development role. I was responsible for hands-on lab testing I have also completed a six month position in the electrochemical department at Nuvera Fuel Cells, a hydrogen fuel cell company based in Billerica, MA. At Nuvera, I was mostly responsible for single cell testing of membranes and new materials for performance and durability under various conditions. I graduated from the honors program at Northeastern University in Boston and have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in mechanical engineering. I graduated in May, 2018. I have had academic research experience, working under Professor Podlaha-Murphy at Northeastern University, performing electrodeposition reactions of heavy metals in small electrochemical cells.
