About Ethan Erdmann

I work for the Minnesota DNR as a professional forester in Baudette, MN. Duties have included wildland firefighting, timber cruising, timber sale design and administration, forest inventory, and be available to the general public as a source of education and information regarding natural resource management. Outside the state I am a certified tree farm inspector for the American Tree Farm System and am currently working towards my Certified Forester with the Society of American Foresters. I earned my degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Forestry Science with an emphasis on global information systems (GIS) and forest management. I hope to use the combination of GIS in forest management for better timber administration analysis and design as well as optimized timber product flows. I am also very active as a wildland firefighter for the state of Minnesota and larger GLFCC as a qualified ICT5, FFT1, and ENGB(t) on fire assignments. Currently working on FAL2 and RADO taskbooks. When I'm not working on personal projects and expanding my forestry knowledge, I like to relax in my hammock and play my guitar.
