About Ethan Gray

I am currently a third-year undergraduate student at Indiana University studying Finance with a minor in psychology. In my sophomore year of high school, I took an entrepreneurship class that sparked a passion for business. I was fascinated with the fact that through hard-work and problem solving you could turn an idea into a business that could have a positive effect on the world. This led me to work as a manager for my high school’s branch of a student run startup called Top Grade Tutors. In this position, I was able to gain useful knowledge in marketing strategies while working to expand the company’s brand. Additionally, I was tasked with regularly communicating and coordinating scheduling information with parents and tutors. I am always looking for new paths and opportunities to learn more which led me to getting involved through the business club DECA. In my freshman and sophomore years in the club, I was able to gain real world experiences talking to business professionals through the regional and state competitions. These competitions challenged me to quickly problem solve and communicate effectively. They also provided me with the skills necessary to compete at the international level in my final year. During my junior and senior years, I took leadership positions in the club where I organized and carried out weekly meetings as well as serving as a mentor to younger students in the club. The knowledge that I gained from my involvement in DECA has equipped me with a useful skillset that I can apply to future endeavors that I may encounter.
