About Ethan Joergensen

As a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science, with a Pre-Medical Careers certification, I am preparing to matriculate to medical school at the John Sealy School of Medicine at UTMB. I have a wide range of interests including, but not limited to, fitness and nutrition, exercise physiology, and sports medicine. With these interests, I am pursuing a career as a physician and leader in healthcare. I am currently employed full-time as a medical assistant at Austin Cardiology Clinic, where I oversee and assist with several vital processes crucial to running a clinic, including patient intake, cardiovascular stress testing, and insurance authorization. My other professional experiences include significant time facility operations and leadership. In these roles, I was in charge of the efficient functioning of a team responsible for the oversight of multiple indoor and outdoor recreational facilities. As a part of these roles, I utilized strong leadership and communication skills when interacting with my team while coordinating events, demonstrated adaptability in a dynamic environment, and exhibited personal integrity by displaying strong work ethic, professionalism, and delivering excellent customer service. I also possess extensive experience in a research environment, as I spent significant time working in the Neural Cardiovascular Control Lab at the University of Texas. In this lab, I gained practical clinical experience and a deeper understanding of human physiology by participating in exercise physiology research. During my experiences, I have developed skills that include leadership, adaptability, integrity, efficiency, organization, and professionalism, which I utilize to pursue my future aspirations.
