Background
About Ethan Layne
Have you ever been frustrated in the store debating spending thousands of dollars on electronics? Only to find out that it lasts less than a year, the battery dies faster than advertised, the processing speed is slow, and the repair cost is more than the money you spent to purchase the device. I want to be a part of driving innovation forward, but with a clear goal in mind. Designing electronics that are fault-tolerant, within electrical safety standards, and provides individuals or companies the chance to make a clear choice based on quality and reliability.Bridging the gap between hardware and software development has always been my passion. In my previous experience and through both my degrees, I have worked on projects that merge the hardware and software realms. I am a solutions-oriented and analytical engineer who has contributed to projects involving analog, digital & mixed-signal electronics design. What do I want? All I desire is the chance to learn and further the industry through quality, safety, and design standards. Previously, I have worked with Assembly Machine Languages, Programming Languages, Microcontrollers, Processor Design, and PCB Design. Eager to learn how to perform professional quality testing of PCB prototype boards, testing components used in the PCB assembly & fabrication, and detecting issues at an industry standard. Throughout my education, I acquired skills such as proficiency with electronic laboratory tests & measurement tools. Verilog HDL code for FPGAs and create embedded MIPS processors. Written application software in C++, HTML, Python, and Java. My education experience has created an innate ability for software versatility through working with programs like Matlab, Simulink, Multisim, and Quartus II. Through my senior design project role, I learned Eagle by Autodesk, PCB fabrication concepts, software engineering aspects, and low voltage design.
