About Ethan Moore

Growing up in a family of car collectors, I inherited a gene to want to drive and own cars for myself. My father drives a 1968 yellow Oldsmobile 4-4-2 and a 1966 red Charger. The love for unique and classic cars rubbed off on me over the years and led me to purchase three vehicles. The first is a 1969 Buick Electra 225, the second is a yellow 1991 Japanese import right-hand drive called a Honda Beat, and the last is a 1991 Mazda B2600i. The first two are beauties I love driving and showing off, and the last is a fixer-upper I take into the mountains for snowboarding. Each of these cars are so different and I find it exciting to learn and understand what goes on under the hood! I thoroughly enjoy taking the time to understand machines and mechanisms. My love for driving and taking care of unique cars led me to the realization, that I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. Understanding how mechanisms and machines work is the first step in being able to repair, restore, and in some cases improve on the initial design. For the past 3 years, I have been studying mechanical engineering at the University of Wyoming. At the University of Wyoming, I have taken classes in Thermodynamics 2, System Dynamics, Experimentation and Modeling, and Intermediate Mechanics of Materials, which have all prepared me to see the real-world applications all around us! I have also completed my CWSA, and am proficient in SolidWorks. I cannot wait to put these classes to work! Over the years I have worked a myriad of jobs that have prepared me to be a great asset to any company in the field of mechanical engineering. One of the largest projects I took on was leading a team of more than 20 people in installing one thousand feet of fencing at a conservation center in Colorado, using critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to get the job done. I feel one of my strongest attributes is my interpersonal skills and communication with others, which came from being a resident assistant and server. Being able to participate on a team and contribute to projects, while maintaining accurate and detailed records is something that I strive at and look forward to doing!
