About Ethan Purdy

I currently work as a manager in model validation at TD. In my role I use data and analytics to evaluate quantitative models, including credit risk and treasury models. My past work experience has included work at Novantas, a management consulting firm specializing in the financial services sector. As a Lead Associate, I am responsible for conducting sophisticated analysis and managing the junior associates. Through this experience I have not only gained a deep understanding of banking and finance but I have also developed my analytical capabilities and presentation skills. As an employee, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the worlds largest banks to improve their pricing analytics and solutions capabilities, develop statistical models to forecast balances and rates, and optimize a bank's branch network. To perform this work I have conducted analysis through a number of programs, such as Oracle, SAS, SQL Server, Microsoft Excel, and others. Furthermore, it has developed my ability to work with data, including very large datasets, to draw meaningful results and derive tangible solutions. I have honed my ability to synthesize the results to create clear and polished presentations that explain complicated concepts in a digestible way.
