About Ethan Runge
I am currently in the final stages of completing my PhD in Engineering Physics at the University of Saskatchewan. My current project is the Limb Imaging Fourier Transform Spectrometer Experiment, or LIFE for short, an atmospheric thermal imaging instrument meant to increase our knowledge of the upper troposphere/lower stratosphere boundary. The design and modelling of this instrument was the subject of my MSc degree, and my current work on my PhD involved the development, building, charaterization and test flight of the instrument. Through this project, I have needed to employ numerous hardware and software solutions and analysis tools, as work ranged from theoretical application, through instrument design using theory, practical development, and finally analysis and assessment of results. In this way, I have been involved with the instrument at every stage of it's lifetime, and have experience with each stage of such a project.
