About Ethan Smith

My name is Ethan D. Smith. Presently, I am a Senior Associate Process Engineer on the Technical Services team at Pfizer's manufacturing site in Sanford, NC. My work primarily supports ongoing improvement efforts across the manufacturing unit operations. Previously, I managed the internal R&D Particle Retention Laboratory at Entegris, Inc.'s global HQ in Billerica, Massachusetts, where my team supported Entegris's efforts to develop new products relevant to liquid microcontamination control in the semiconductor industry. My graduate work was in Professor Stephen M. Martin's group at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA, where I received my Ph. D. in Chemical Engineering in 2020. My main project centered on understanding the impact of nanoparticles on existing reverse osmosis (RO) membrane technology. My major research contributions and publications may be found on my Google Scholar profile: I am a 2015 graduate of NC State University, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
