About Ethan Snyder

I'm from Oswego New York, where I grew up playing pretty much every sport that I could. When I wasn't playing sports, I was reading or working, which in my younger years meant cutting lawns, painting & doing yard work for family. Around the age of 14, I began to work summers for my cousin in the masonry trade, progressing into learning about laying block, brick & stone and pouring lots of concrete in between. I loved the work, creating something that would last, helping homeowners make their vision a reality and coming home tired, knowing that I gave the day my all. After graduating from Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, I went off to college at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. At freshman orientation when I first heard "To think that in such a place, I led such a life," I never knew how true it would be until after I graduated. During my time at Miami, I was blessed to be able to meet my closest friends and have countless incredible life experiences. I eventually graduated with a degree in Sports Leadership & Management (SLAM), accompanied by a general business minor. I was able to learn a lot there, but I feel the most valuable thing I gained from my years at Miami wasn't the degree, but the connections and friendships I formed throughout the journey. After graduating I went back to work with my cousin until the snow came, which led to me wondering what my next step would be. So I flew down to Florida, found a job in sales, then 2 weeks later I made the 20 hour drive down to the sunshine state with a packed car and my chocolate lab Brutus. Fast forward a year - I am applying to the bricklayers apprenticeship program in Orlando to get my start in the area. After a week or two I received a call from Dennis Hall to talk about the program. After talking for awhile, he ended up connecting me with Jay Snyder, the next day I went in for an interview and I have been with Masonry Accessories since! My current role with the company involves a variety of responsibilities, no two days are the same, which is exactly how I like it! Some days I am on sales trips, others making deliveries throughout the great state of Florida and others I might be filling orders in the warehouse or working at my desk. I have already learned a vast amount in this position in a short period and I am very excited to continue growing my knowledge of the masonry trade through the people around me and my position in the company! My cousin used to say "Ethan's going to college just to become a mason" and it turns out he was right!
