About Ethel Chafloque

As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) since Aug 2022, I use my laboratory skills and microbiology expertise to provide quality diagnostic services to the veterans. I have a Medical Laboratory Scientist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Penn State University. I have over seven years of experience in the field of medical laboratory science, working as a Microbiology Technologist and a Medical Laboratory Scientist at UPMC, where I performed various tests, analyses, and procedures on clinical specimens. I also have skills in laboratory safety, public speaking, and languages, as I speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese. I am passionate about serving the veterans and contributing to their health and well-being. I am also committed to learning new techniques, technologies, and best practices in the field of medical laboratory science. I value teamwork, collaboration, and innovation, and I seek to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the VA.
