About Etienne Coutu

Étienne Coutu holds a master's degree in architecture and urban design from Columbia University in New York and a master's degree in architecture from the Université de Montréal. At Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) since 2022, he holds the position of Deputy Director, Interfaces and Operational Readiness (ORAT) within the Airport Planning and Innovation team. From 2009 to 2013, as political attaché responsible for urban planning and major projects at the Cabinet of the 2nd opposition at City Hall, and from 2014 to 2017 as political counsellor in the administration of Mayor Coderre, he has worked to implement large-scale urban projects that will transform Montreal, such as the REM and the extension of the blue line of the metro. He also advised the junior Minister of Transport and Minister responsible for the Métropole, Chantal Rouleau from 2018 to 2022. Accredited architect for LEED certification, he worked for the architecture firm Cardinal-Hardy et Associés, where he was involved on major urban projects in Montreal such as the renovation of the Saint-James United Church, Sherbrooke, and the Museum of Modern Art project in the silo no. Having briefly touched the architecture venues at Scéno Plus, he was then in charge of mandates for public bodies at Provencher-Roy and Associés Architectes.
