About Eugene Brickman

I recently retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers after a 37+ year career. Since 2004, I was the Deputy Chief of the Planning Division. There, I was responsible for: supervising up to 60 professionals; development and review of all decision documents (including all post-Hurricane Sandy efforts and the $2B NY-NJ Harbor Deepening Project); coordinating with Members of Congress on appropriations and authorizations; coordinating with state and local (NY, NJ, CT, VT) officials on project development and opportunities; developing and managing the operating budget of the office; coordinating and managing all aspects of human resources; serving on the Steering Committee for the international Lake Champlain Basin Program; serving as a voting member on the AE Selection Board; and serving on the leadership and management board for the national Coastal Planning Center of Expertise, with main focuses of: managing agency, technical and independent peer reviews; and developing and managing training programs, as well as instructing some courses. I am interested in mainly part-time employment on Long Island, with focuses on, but not limited to: developing project strategies; coordination with the public and/or governments on project opportunities and development; and quality control/reviews.
