About Eugene Etin

I’m a high-capacity supervisor of construction projects across multiple provinces and have deep experience in project, budget, timeline, and supply chain management of multifamily housing renovations. My goal is to identify and face challenges in every project and every day of my professional life. This way, I never stop learning, and I never stop becoming a better teacher to the professionals I mentor. These lifelong loves of learning, being busy, and facing challenges set me up well for project management in multifamily construction. By finding solutions to problems other people can’t solve, I can better teach new ways of approaching projects to contractors under my supervision. My strengths are concentrated in my problem solving, negotiation, and risk mitigation, and conflict mitigation skills. They orient me toward solutions that better advance projects and project relationships, thus enabling successful project management. My high-level accomplishments include having exponentially advanced my construction management experience and understanding at Astra, largely under the tutelage of my mentor, Astra CEO Maxim Olshevsky. With Maxim’s support, I learned to manage large teams and to integrate complex and moving project elements. I have advanced in my experience to contribute greatly to Astra’s ability to mitigate supply chain and other risks. For example, in our ongoing contract for regular upgrades and renovations, I have sometimes managed over 75 renovation projects in a single month—delivering each on time and on budget, a feat impossible without intensive risk mitigation management. These risk mitigation strategies proved fortuitous during COVID-19. Through my leadership, Astra was able to utilize its purchase of a multiuse commercial-residential property in Calgary’s Beltline to create a construction project that ensured no Astra employee lost work during the pandemic and that developed the asset into what is now a feature of the Beltline’s business community. My goals are to continue to grow the company that has given me so much. In all things, I remind myself to use my experience to think seven steps ahead. I aim to employ my strengths in dimensional planning to secure the success of Astra’s future activities.
