Currently, a computational scientist at a leading medical research institute supporting and assisting researchers in all aspects of medical research but with an emphasis on genomics and molecular dynamics. Extensive experience leading the High Performance/High Capability Scientific Computation group at a major pharmaceutical company with the responsibility to develop and implement the strategy and tactics of a high performance commercial scientific laboratory. Approach was to develop the group as a scientific computing group that addressed all aspects of scientific computing, not just HPC.The group proved itself to be collaborators with scientists at all levels to develop workable strategies to optimize their productivity and not merely purveyors of compute cycles. Extensive experience interacting with software and hardware vendors. Founding member and former chairman of the Cross Pharma (xPharma) HPC Forum.
